Hello, my name is Alexandra Johnson and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have many years of experience in community mental health, educational settings, and private practice. I have worked with adults, children, and their families to overcome mental difficulties they may be having. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelors in Psychology, and graduated with a Masters in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. I love to build relationships with individuals and their families to aid in them finding the help that they desire. I desire to see individuals become the best versions of themselves, and however I can meet a need along this journey is what I desire and plan to do.

What can members expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, you can expect a welcoming environment that will be suitable for exploring concerns that have brought you into counseling. We will discuss what brings you in, and create a plan and evaluation to see how we will accomplish your goals. We will identify goals that you want to meet in counseling.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths?

I have years of experience building relationships and trusts with individuals. I am able to have a warm and safe environment which can help along your journey. I have the desire and ability to put relationships first and meet the individuals where they are. My biggest strengths as a therapist lie in my ability to create a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. I’m skilled at helping clients explore and work through anxiety, depression, and other issues issues, often using mindfulness, grounding techniques, and cognitive-behavioral strategies to support them.
