Welcome! My name is Marlén Jiménez, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Michigan. I am a native bilingual Spanish speaker with over 20 years of experience working in the field of mental health. As we work together, we’ll use various modalities to achieve your therapeutic goals. I believe in creating a safe, non-judgmental therapy environment that is both compassionate and culturally sensitive.

What can members expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our sessions you can expect a safe space to explore your therapy goals and concerns. Sessions are patient centered and can lead to new perspectives and practical tools to navigate challenges more effectively. My goal is to provide a supportive environment where you feel empowered to make positive changes and achieve your personal goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths?

One of my biggest strengths is my ability to build strong, trusting relationships with clients. I prioritize creating a safe and non-judgmental space where clients feel comfortable exploring their thoughts and emotions. My deep empathy and active listening skills allow me to truly understand and connect with clients, which fosters a supportive therapeutic alliance.

My Treatment Methods

I primarily use a blend of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to address a variety of client needs. CBT focuses on identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and behaviors. By helping clients develop more constructive ways of thinking and behaving, CBT can lead to meaningful changes in mood and functioning.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a unique therapeutic approach that blends mindfulness and behavioral strategies to help individuals live more meaningful and fulfilling lives. The core principle of ACT is to enhance psychological flexibility—the ability to stay in the present moment and take actions aligned with one’s values, even in the face of difficult thoughts and emotions.
